Independence Day Celebrations
On the eve of India's Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi. President Ram Nath Kovind, will also be present along with all the Union ministers. Sikh and Hindu religious leaders, Bollywood stars, armed forces personnel, cricketers, journalists, and former politicians will also join the celebrations. The iconic India Gate in Delhi will be lit up as a massive wave of light will stream in to celebrate the occasion. The Aishwarya Rai-themed fireworks will be one of the highlights of the event.
India's history of Independence Day
It is interesting to know that India was recognised as a nation for the first time on 15th August 1947, although it was the first president of India, Muhammad Ali Jinnah who suggested this to the Congress President Jawaharlal Nehru on 14th August 1947. On 15th August 1947, India got its Independence. The people of India then shared their valentine wishes with one another to mark the historic moment as the celebrations went on till the midnight of 15th August. This Independence Day marks the culmination of the 70 years of freedom that India has attained from the British rule. The freedom fighters were justly rewarded with the Bharat Ratna and other national honours after India got independence on 15th August 1947.

Revellers celebrate the Independence Day on August 15 every year in India. India would be celebrating its 75th Independence Day in 2021, which will be celebrated on 15 August. The importance of this year's occasion is so much, that the country is starting a year-long Independence Day celebrations in a unique way. School children have been asked to display pictures of freedom fighters, such as Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh and other prominent leaders, in the schools they attend. The aim is to educate the school children about the rich and glorious history of the country, and about the struggles and sacrifices of freedom fighters who struggled for Indian Independence.

Coffee Day Enterprises Limited, India’s largest cafe chain, is set to introduce the country’s biggest Independence Day celebrations in 2021. The company, which operates 20,000 coffee shops across the country, is calling for ideas for the celebrations on its website. The firm is also soliciting a proposal on Independence Day theme, which can be anything from ancient India to freedom fighters or freedom fighters living in India. To celebrate 75 years of Independence, Coffee Day is all set to build an iconic tribute on the historic Red Fort in Delhi. The iconic monument is one of the biggest structures in the country and houses the tomb of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who was known for her beauty and loyalty to the Emperor.
