Founder of Pakistan: Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born in 1876 in Karachi. He was a lawyer, constitutionalist, and a staunch advocate of Indian independence from British Rule. He rejected the notion that Muslims could never be accepted as a people of the country. He took leadership of the All India Muslim League, formed in March 1940, and from 1947 onwards initiated the Pakistan movement. He successfully framed the Muslim League manifesto, adopted at the inaugural session of the All India Muslim League. He led the struggle for a separate homeland of Muslims, and died in 1948.
